Always Falcon Proud! 💛🖤
The level of work our students are doing is nothing short of incredible. Our Portals students are engaging in the same types of digital preservation work being used by professionals in the field of historic preservation around the world.
Historic structures face constant environmental and structural threats, and many cannot be preserved forever in their original form. The devastating 2019 fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral showed the world just how critical digital preservation has become. Because the cathedral had been digitally documented before the fire, restoration teams were able to reconstruct it with remarkable accuracy and efficiency.
Today, digital preservation initiatives are rapidly expanding worldwide, and the technologies our students are learning align directly with these global efforts. Through reality computing and 3D virtual technologies, students are not only preserving history — they are building skills that are now in demand across multiple industries.
The Portals program is more than innovative learning; it is real-world workforce development preparing students to lead in emerging fields and make a meaningful impact far beyond the classroom.

This past weekend, our talented student musicians traveled to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, to compete in the regional Music in the Parks festival at Dollywood — and they brought home SIX trophies and top honors across multiple categories.
🥇 1st Place – Jazz Band
🥇 1st Place – High School Concert Band
🥈 2nd Place – Middle School Concert Band
🥇 1st Place – High School Choir/Vocal Band
🥇 1st Place – Marching Band
🏆 Esprit de Corps Award
The prestigious Esprit de Corps Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate exceptional character, teamwork, sportsmanship, integrity, and a spirit of cooperation throughout the festival weekend.
What makes this achievement even more special is the remarkable growth of our music program. Just a few years ago, the program consisted of only a handful of student musicians. Today, under the leadership of Marissa McFarren and the dedicated music staff, the program has grown into an award-winning organization serving more than 50 students across multiple ensembles.
We are incredibly proud of our students, directors, families, boosters, and community supporters whose hard work and dedication continue to restore the tradition of excellence in Brownsville music. Your commitment, passion, and perseverance are inspiring.
Congratulations to everyone involved for representing Brownsville Area School District with pride, excellence, and heart! 💛🖤🎺🥁🎼
Today, some of our Middle School students had the opportunity to visit the Verticals Makerspace and Entrepreneurship Center to print T-shirts they designed as part of the “T-Shirt for Social Change” challenge.
The T-shirts will be showcased in a gallery walk at school next week.
