PARENT/GUARDIAN PERMISSION FORM
Dear Parent/Guardian,
There will be a Kennywood Field Trip on May 28th, 2026 for 6th-8th grade Brownsville Middle School students. Students will be transported by the Mlaker bus company and will be leaving the school complex at 10:00 am and returning at about 7:00 pm. STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO WALK HOME FOR ANY REASON once they return back to the school! If a student is riding home with another student, a parent letter must be provided at departure the morning of the trip. Students will not be permitted to depart the bus without a parent/guardian to walk him/her to their vehicle.A parent must come up to the bus and provide the name of the student to the chaperone on the bus and then that student will be allowed to depart the bus.
Students will be able to explore the park on their own but chaperones will be around if needed. There is also a Google Voice number at the bottom of this letter that students will have in case of an emergency.
The cost for the trip is $50 and includes the ticket and the bus. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE FOOD OR GAMES! Students will be given a bagged lunch on the bus going to the park. Cash will only be accepted. 6th graders will give their permission slip and money to Ms. Illig, 7th grade students will give theirs to Mrs. Saghy, and 8th graders will give theirs to Mrs. Furlong.
DEADLINE TO BUY A TICKET WILL BE MAY 26th. Season ticket holders will owe $10 to cover the cost of the bus. Kennywood is a cashless park. There are conversion stations at the park that will place cash on a card for all purchases in the park.
The school code of conduct rules will be enforced since this is a school function. Any student with one major or 3 minor write ups beginning the 4th 9 weeks will NOT be permitted to attend. Any student that is failing one or more classes will not be permitted to attend. Students with 5 or more unexcused absences or 3 or more tardies to school beginning the 4th 9 weeks will not be able to attend. Any student that commits an infraction during the trip and/or is late to departing the park will be held accountable and will NOT BE PERMITTED TO ATTEND FUTURE FIELD TRIPS during the following school year.The safety of our students is our utmost priority as well as representing our district in a positive light to others. Girls will be seated in the back of the bus and the boys will be seated in the front. There will not be boy/girl seating. Only water with twistable lids will be permitted on the bus.
